Italian Basil (Genovese Basil) SeedsCharlies Patch
Italian basil (or Genovese basil) is considered to be THE basil for authentic Italian cuisine. Not only does basil go well with tomatoes outside of the garden, but inside, you can plant it with your tomato plants as a companion plant to help in repelling pests such as hornworms and aphids. Leaves can be picked and eaten fresh, or dried for later use.
Pinch off tips of single-stemmed growth to encourage a bushier plant.
